2020 DT Jaquelin Roy decommits from LSU

It’s no secret that one of LSU head coach Ed Orgeron’s most targeted positions during recruiting has been the defensive line, and that recruitment took a minor hit Thursday night.

University Lab defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy announced that he he has decommitted from LSU and re-opened his recruitment. He verbally committed to the hometown program in September.

The 6-foot-3, 284-pound, four-star prospect currently holds a 0.9484 Compostie Rating on 247sports, which rates him as the No. 10 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Louisiana.

The decommitment knocked LSU from its top spot in 247Sports’ class rankings to No. 2. The Tigers were overtaken by Alabama.

He currently has 20 offers, including those from Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State and Oregon.
