REPORT: LSU sophomore DB Kelvin Joseph enters transfer portal

LSU sophomore defensive back and Baton Rouge-native Kelvin Joseph has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, according to a report from 247Sports citing sources within the LSU program.

The Scotlandville product served as a backup defensive back of all trades during his freshman season and was expected to see an expanded role as a backup cornerback next season.

Joseph finished last season with 12 tackles and a pass deflection. He missed the Tigers’ appearance in the Fiesta Bowl against UCF on New Years Day due to a suspension for “violation of team rules,” as said by LSU head coach Ed Orgeron.

Joseph himself is yet to comment on his entering the portal on Twitter or otherwise. As currently reported, he has not necessarily officially parted ways with the program and the door to remain is open.

LSU signed five cornerbacks in its 2019 class, including Derek Stingley, Raydarious Jones, Maurice Hampton, Jay Ward and Cordale Flott.
