LSU women’s basketball and Coach Kim Mulkey announced the signing of 6-foot-5 Russian post player Anna Minaeva on Friday.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Anna to our LSU family,” Mulkey said. “She has the experience, skill set, and size to make an immediate impact in our frontcourt. It takes tremendous courage to leave home at just 17 years old and travel across the world to pursue a dream. I’m excited to support and guide Anna as she begins this next chapter at LSU.”

Minaeva joins the LSU roster after most recently spending her time with MBA Moscow, a professional women’s basketball club in Russia. Playing in the Russia Premier League and the Russia Superleague, Minaeva has participated in 29 games thus far in the 2025-26 season, averaging 11.2 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

She has found more success in the Superleague playing for Moscow’s second team. She averaged 15.1 points and 13.7 rebounds in 30.9 minutes per game while shooting 50.8% from the floor. Minaeva also averaged 2.1 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals in 17 games.

With the senior squad in the Premier League, Minaeva logged 12.9 minutes per contest in 12 appearances. She shot 46.3% from the field and 60.7% from the free-throw line for an average of 5.6 points to go along with four boards and one steal a game.
