LSU announces guidelines for alcohol sales in Tiger Stadium

It’s official: fans will be able to enjoy a game in Tiger Stadium while legally consuming an alcoholic beverage this season.

LSU announced the policy on the date promised by new athletics director Scott Woodward (July 25), and it details how many drinks one can purchase, when drinks can be purchased and includes a code of conduct policy the university plans to enforce strictly.

“This is all about enhancing the fan experience, responding to the feedback from our fans and doing it responsibly,” LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward said in the news release announcing the policy. “It’s a big addition to our events and we believe it will be a positive one overall, but we are going about it with the appropriate mindset and thorough planning.”

The sale of beer and wine in Tiger Stadium will begin this upcoming season. No outside alcohol will be permitted, and a limit of two drinks per transaction will be enforced.

Alcohol sales are also expected to be sold at other major sporting events in the future, including basketball and baseball games, though this policy does not address that just yet.

  1. With all of the $ they will make off beer sales, maybe they can lower the price of water and soft drinks!
