Five-star WR Rakim Jarrett commits to LSU

Ed Orgeron clearly wants LSU to be a national recruiting powerhouse for 2020, and his quest reached another level Saturday as LSU now holds five-star commitments on both coasts.

Five-star wide receiver Rakim Jarrett of Washington D.C. committed to LSU on Saturday afternoon via a tweet. Jarrett is considered the No. 2 receiver in the 2020 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Jarrett committed during an official visit to campus in Baton Rouge, according to a report from 247Sports. Listed at 6-foot and 190 pounds, Jarrett caught 79 passes for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns during his past two seasons at St. John’s College HS.

The pledge bumps LSU up to No. 1 in the current 247Sports Class Rankings for 2020. Jarrett is commitment No. 13 at this point and joins California cornerback Elias Ricks as LSU’s second five-star prospect.
