The two biggest threats to the LSU defense on Saturday were both listed as questionable by Mississippi State in its availability report to the Southeastern Conference office on Wednesday night.
State dual threat quarterback Kamario Taylor has a turf toe injury and running back Fluff Bothwell has an ankle injury. Two more injury reports will follow on Thursday and Friday before a game day status report via the SEC office on Saturday.
The No. 16 Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 SEC) play at No. 22 LSU (4-2, 1-2 SEC) on Saturday (11 a.m., ESPN).
Taylor has completed 102 of 154 passes for 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Bulldogs, while Bothwell leads State in rushing with 74 carries for 403 yards and three touchdowns.
LSU backup linebacker Tylen Singleton, meanwhile, is listed as questionable. Singleton has played in three games this season with no statistics.
The same two key starters ruled out before last week’s game at Kentucky for LSU are out this week – tight end Trey’Dez Green (knee) and linebacker Whit Weeks (leg).
Also out are three Tigers who were ruled out for the season previously – starting defensive back Dashawn Spears, linebacker Charles Ross II and wide receiver Phillip Wright III.
