“Iron sharpens iron,” Umanmielen said. “We’re working on different techniques. He shows me things I’ve never seen before that I’ll eventually probably see during the season. So, it’s good seeing different stances, different hands that he’s showing me. So, it’s been good. It’s been a great battle this camp.”

Seaton has noticed Umanmielen in flashes.

“Speed guy, quick off the edge,” he said.

Umanmielen and former Ole Miss teammate Devin Harper, an offensive lineman transfer to LSU as well, are the subjects of a lawsuit by Ole Miss for not paying buyouts to Ole Miss after signing with LSU last January. Each player had just signed new contracts to play at Ole Miss in 2026 before signing with LSU.
