The All-America honors have begun rolling in for LSU ahead of the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

Outfielder Greg Deichmann was named a first team All-American by Baseball America. Pitcher Alex Lange was named to the publication’s second team. The full squad can be found here.

One day earlier, a trio of rookies received Freshman All America nods from Collegiate Baseball magazine. They were center fielder Zach Watson, third baseman Josh Smith and right-hander Eric Walker.

Here’s some other notes ahead of what should be a particularly newsy Friday media session before the Tigers and Bulldogs square off on Saturday night:

– Mississippi State coach Andy Cannizaro told reporters Tuesday that lefty ace Konnor Pilkington will start game one, with the rest of his starters to be announced. Paul Mainieri declined to unveil his rotation before Friday.

– LSU announced the super regional practice schedule for Friday. The Tigers will practice at Alex Box Stadium from 1-2:30 p.m. while the Bulldogs will hit the field from 2:45-4:15 p.m. All practices are open to the public.

– The broadcast team of Dave Neal and Ben McDonald will be on the call for the Baton Rouge Super Regional, ESPN announced. The first two games will start at 8 p.m. with Monday’s game, if necessary, beginning at a time to be determined.
