LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has been playing some of the best football of his career as the No. 15 Tigers (6-2, 3-2 Southeastern Conference) roll into a critical matchup with No. 9 Alabama (6-2, 4-2 SEC) after back-to-back blowout SEC wins. The Arizona state transfer has completed 180 of 256 passes for 2,173 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions through his first eight games in Baton Rouge. He has posted a completion rate of 70% or higher in his last five games and accounted for four total touchdowns in each of his last two outings. LSU will need its star quarterback to stay in rhythm after the bye week as it prepares for a grueling November slate.
Leavitt spoke with local Media on Tuesday about his growth in the LSU offense and preparation for his first appearance in the LSU-Alabama rivalry.
