Two of LSU’s top linebacker signees in 2020 are no longer with the team.

Antonine Sampah and Phillip Webb, a pair of top 100 recruits out of high school, were not listed on the team’s 2022 roster, which the school updated Thursday.

Neither player saw action in the team’s spring game April 23, the first under new head coach Brian Kelly.

The Baton Rouge Advocate reported both players were sidelined by medical reasons according to a team spokeman confirmed.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Sampah appeared in six games during his two years at LSU and didn’t record a tackle, including four games during the 2021 season. The former Rivals.com top-ranked player in Virginia out of Woodbridge High School was considered a four-star recruit. He took part in the Under Armour All-American game.

Webb, a 6-4, 241-pounder, redshirted his first season at LSU. He signed with the Tigers out of Lanier High in Buford, Georgia, and was listed as the nation’s sixth-ranked outside linebacker by 247Sports and No. 25 on ESPN’s Top 300 list.

Webb saw limited action last season and registered his lone career tackle in the team’s Texas Bowl loss to Kansas State.

LSU’s linebacker corps is expected to be led this season by junior Mike Jones Jr., sophomore Greg Penn III and fifth-year seniors Micah Baskerville and Jared Small. The Tigers also loaded up in the NCAA transfer portal and signed sophomore West Weeks of Virginia and freshman Kolbe Fields of South Carolina. They also signed heralded freshmen Harold Perkins of Cypress, Texas, and Orlando’s Demario Tolan.
