Outside linebacker Isaiah Washington announces intent to transfer

By JAMES MORAN | Tiger Rag Associate Editor

Redshirt-sophomore outside linebacker Isaiah Washington is leaving the LSU football program and intends to transfer, he announced via Twitter on Thursday morning.

Washington, who missed all of last season due to a torn ACL suffered in fall camp, ran into academic trouble during the spring. He appeared in six games during the 2015 season.

He’d fallen behind a crowded depth chart at the Buck spot that includes Arden Key and fellow underclassmen Andre Anthony, Ray Thornton and five-star signee K’Lavon Chaisson.

The news was first reported by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Washington’s full statement can be read below.
