LSU, Texas to meet in SEC/Big 12 Challenge

Fans of LSU and Texas going to the game in Austin this fall won’t have to wait long for a rematch, albeit in a different sport.

The Tigers and Longhorns’ basketball teams will reportedly take each other on in the annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge, which pits teams of the two leagues against each other for non-conference bouts, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

The match-up is significant for the head coaches, as LSU head coach Will Wade once coached under and replaced Texas head coach Shaka Smart at VCU.

This should be one of the final non-conference additions to LSU’s schedule. The Tigers are also slated to take on VCU and USC this season, as well as participate in the Jamaica Classic.
