LSU stays put at No. 7 in CFP Rankings

Apparently only beating lowly Arkansas by one touchdown instead of two didn’t do much damage to LSU’s standing with the only poll that actually matters.

LSU stayed put at No. 7 as the latest College Football Playoff rankings were unveiled on Tuesday night. The entire top 10 maintained status quo after a week that was light on major upsets.

If the season ended today, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan would be in the College Football Playoffs. No. 5 Georgia and No. 6 Oklahoma are the other schools presently ahead of LSU with Washington State, West Virginia and Ohio State rounding out the top 10.

The question for LSU will be how high the two-loss team can rise in the rankings. The other teams ahead and immediately behind them have the chance to rise through conference championship week where as LSU only has Rice and a trip to Texas A&M left on the schedule.
