Five-star true freshman Lamar Brown, who is the No. 1 prospect in the athlete category for the class of 2026 nationally by 247sports.com and the No. 1 defensive lineman by On3.com, was back at practice on Friday morning for LSU.

Brown (6-foot-5, 294 pounds) of University High on the LSU campus was working at edge as usual after missing practice on Thursday. He apparently suffered a minor leg injury on Tuesday. He has been seen with the second team and a bit with the first team throughout preseason camp during the brief media viewing periods.

On offense Friday during a 10-minute viewing period, redshirt sophomore Wisconsin transfer Dilin Jones continued to be the first team running back. Redshirt sophomore transfer Stacy Gage, formerly of Central Florida, got handoffs next after Jones.

They were followed by LSU returning backs Harlem Berry, a sophomore, and junior Caden Durham.

LSU TO SCRIMMAGE SATURDAY

LSU will hold a full-contact scrimmage on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Tiger Stadium that is closed to media. The Tigers held a 170-play scrimmage last Saturday.

No. 11 LSU opens the season two weeks from Saturday against No. 23 Clemson at 6:30 p.m. on ABC in Tiger Stadium. ESPN’s College GameDay will be on campus for the game and again on Sept. 19 when the Tigers play at No. 9 Ole Miss as LSU coach Lane Kiffin returns to Oxford, where he coached the Rebels from 2020-25.
