Another day, another turn in LSU’s quarterback recruiting — though this one comes a few years still down the road.

Longtime commitment Zadock Dinkelmann, a 2018 quarterback out of Texas, announced his decommitment from the Tigers in a tweet Tuesday night. He’d been a verbal pledge since he was 14 years old.

Dinkelmann, standing at 6-foot-4 and 213 pounds, is the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in next year’s class, according to 247Sports. He made his non-binding pledge to Les Miles and Cam Cameron back in 2014.

News of his decommitment comes in new offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s first week on the job. Dinkelmann is the nephew of Ty Detmer, who won a Heisman Trophy during his days playing quarterback at BYU.
