Head to Head: LSU vs. Alabama

KJ Malone vs. Tim Williams

It’s well established that LSU is going to have to throw the football with some amount of efficiency if it’s going to upend Alabama, but that won’t happen if Danny Etling is routinely running for his life or scraping himself off the turf on Saturday night. Alabama leads the nation in sacks (32), and Williams leads the Tide with 6.5 himself. Like Arden Key for LSU, Williams is a nightmare for offensive tackles because of the speed and length he brings coming around the edge. For what its worth, LSU has allowed just 11 sacks this season, third fewest in the SEC. However it must be pointed out that against Auburn, the best defensive front LSU has played up to this point, that offensive line yielded four sacks in a beating that left Etling bloodied and bruised.
