Suspended receiver Drake Davis arrested again on battery charges

Suspended LSU wide receiver Drake Davis was arrested again on Saturday night, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Inmate List.

Davis is being charged with two counts of battery of a dating partner, according to corresponding the arrest report. The Baton Rouge native was arrested in August on charges he assaulted an ex-girlfriend, which led to him being suspended indefinitely from the team.

The news of Davis’ second arrest was first reported by WAFB in Baton Rouge.

According to arrest report, the LSU Police Department interviewed the victim on Sept. 15 and she confirmed that Davis attacked her on Aug. 26. In addition, she told police that she woke up in the early morning hours of Sept. 15 and noted she had a black eye.

Police noted that the victim did not admit that Davis was the one who struck her. The victim told police during the interview that she did not know how she wound up with the black eye.

On Aug. 20, a judge ordered Davis to adhere to a 10 p.m. curfew while having no contact with the victim of the original arrest.
