When you’re hot, you’re hot. And right now, LSU is scorching on the summer recruiting trail.
The Tigers picked up a commitment Friday afternoon from 2019 quarterback Peter Parrish, the signal caller announced in a tweet. Parrish, an Alabama native, is rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Ed Orgeron and Co. offered Parrish a scholarship this week while he was on campus competing in the LSU Elite Camp and the Central High product didn’t wait long to pull the trigger on committing. He also holds offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri, Kentucky and Georgia Tech.
Parrish is ranked as the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 cycle, according to 247Sports. He’s the first quarterback in the class for LSU and commitment No. 14. His commitment comes on the heels of LSU landing five-star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. on Wednesday.
LSU now appears to be setting itself up to have a deep quarterback room in the years ahead. Graduate transfer Joe Burrow has two years of eligibility remaining, as does Justin McMillan. Sophomore Myles Brennan and redshirt freshman Lowell Narcisse are also on the roster. The Tigers now hold commitments from Parrish in 2019 and T.J. Finley for 2020.
