The Bayou Bengals kept the pressure on Missouri in the top of the seventh, adding five more runs to extend the lead to 16–4 heading into the final frame. Kylee Edwards hit a 2-RBI triple in the inning to complete her cycle.
The runs kept coming in the top of the sixth inning as LSU plated four more. Junior Maddox McKee delivered an RBI single, senior infielder Avery Hodge added an RBI groundout, and senior outfielder Jalia Lassiter capped the frame with a two-run homer to left – her sixth of the season.

The Bayou Bengals weren’t done. LSU loaded the bases after two walks and a fielder’s choice, setting the stage for Hodge. With two outs, she delivered an opposite-field single into left field, scoring sophomore first baseman Tori Edwards and giving LSU a 4-3 lead.
After a quick three-up, three-down bottom of the second, LSU responded in the top half of the inning. Tori Edwards led things off with a solo shot to deep center field, cutting the deficit to 3-1. It was her eight long ball of the season. The Tigers later put runners on first and second, but a strikeout by Lassiter stranded them on base.

Missouri pounced on the Tigers right out of the gate. Mizzou led the bottom of the first off with a double to deep left field. Just as soon as Cellura looked to have settled in after inducing two weak contact outs, she gave up an RBI single to give Missouri an early 1-0 lead. In the very next at-bat, Missouri’s Abby Carr homered to deep left field to give the black and gold Tigers an early 3-0 lead.
