LSU senior linebacker Whit Weeks exited the Texas A&M game with an apparent right ankle injury with just over 10 minutes left in the third quarter Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. After nearly nine minutes in the medical tent, Weeks emerged with a boot on his right foot and walked on crutches to the locker room as the Tigers led 21-3.
“It looked really bad,” LSU coach Lane Kiffin said during a TV interview a few minutes later.
No. 10 LSU went on to take a 35-6 lead over the No. 23 Aggies as the third quarter ended.
Weeks was not involved on the play he was injured, which resulted in a Stephiylan Green sack. But as the play ended, Weeks hopped towards the sideline and was visibly frustrated as the training staff set up the medical tent. Weeks had four tackles in the game.
The team captain from Watkinsville, Georgia, suffered injuries to his right ankle in the 2024 Texas Bowl and during the Ole Miss game in 2025. Weeks missed five games due to complications with the injury last season. Weeks was given the coveted No. 7 jersey going into this season along with tight end Trey’Dez Green.
Weeks, who previously wore No. 40, led LSU with 20 tackles and 2.5 stops for loss entering Saturday’s game.
