If anything, former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow loves a seemingly impossible challenge.
Playing a revamped offensive line because of injuries featuring four new starters and without his best running back, Burrow staked his Cincinnati Bengals to a 24-7 lead and eventually gave the Tennessee Titans their second loss of the season with a 31-20 victory Sunday.
Burrow completed 26 of 37 for 249 yards and two TDs as the Bengals improved to 2-5-1.
Also, former LSU tight end Stephen Sullivan, a seventh-round draft choice by Seattle in last April’s NFL draft who was cut in August and re-signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad, made his pro debut Sunday as a defensive end. He had a tackle in Seattle’s 37-27 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
“I didn’t see this in a million years,” Sullivan said after Sunday’s win. “Man, I couldn’t tell you I’d be right here, right now, playing defensive end in the NFL. So, I didn’t see this coming at all to be honest with you.”

I am bitterly disappointed with fair-weather LSU fans and their ‘what have you done for me lately’ attitudes. They obviously believe 2019 should be repeated EVERY year! LSU was gutted after 2019 by graduations and players opting out for any number of reasons, including another this past weekend. There was NO spring training due to Covid, and Bo Pelini had ONE month to put in the 4-3 with a team loaded with freshmen and first year players.
I’ve seen many fans comment, “Well, I could do that good for half the money” to which I answer BullS—! How many of these self-proclaimed ‘experts’ have even coached? 99% of them wouldn’t know where to start much less create a dominant defense with the inexperience LSU has this year.
The talent is there, you can see it, but there are lapses as is the case with any new players. Defense showed signs against Auburn and will continue to improve. IF there had been spring training, I have no doubt the defensive play would reflect traditional LSU defense.
If there’s one thing which makes me gag, it is to hear the whining, bitching, and complaining of many LSU fans. Those fans need to get a life….
