Practice report: Rashard Lawrence returns, but LSU’s starting tackles still absent

By JAMES MORAN | Tiger Rag Associate Editor

LSU practiced without its starting offensive tackles for the third consecutive day.

K.J. Malone and Toby Weathersby were absent from the media viewing portion of practice Wednesday. LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Monday that both were considered “questionable” to play against Auburn on Saturday.

Saahdiq Charles has practiced in Malone’s place at left tackle for all three portions of practice made open to the media this week. Adrian Magee worked in Weathersby’s place at right tackle Wednesday. Austin Deculus took his place against Florida last Saturday.

Switching sides of the line, defensive end Rashard Lawrence returned to practice Wednesday after being absent Tuesday. Lawrence has been battling ankle injuries.

Safety John Battle and H back JD Moore both practiced in gold non-contact jerseys. Outside linebacker Corey Thompson was no longer wearing gold.

Redshirt freshman cornerback Kristian Fulton was spotted practicing in his regular No. 22 jersey for the first time in weeks. He’s practiced in a scout team jersey recently.
