Practice report: Media allowed in for first practice of the school year

By JAMES MORAN | Tiger Rag Associate Editor

Having broken camp two days sooner, LSU welcomed reporters inside the fences for the first practice of the school year on Monday afternoon.

The Tigers ran through a crisp, no-pad “Tell the Truth” Monday practice, of which the media was allowed to view the individual drills that took place outside.

Here’s some observations, notes and practice videos for your viewing pleasure:

– Absentees from the viewing period: Derrius Guice, Arden Key, Justin McMillan, Donavaughn Campbell, Dee Anderson, Sci Martin and Lanard Fournette.

– First group to go through pass catching drills: D.J. Chark, Russell Gage, Foster Moreau and J.D. Moore.

– First group to go through defensive back drills: Donte Jackson, Kevin Toliver, John Battle and Ed Paris.

– During passing drills, LSU’s running backs spent time running in/out choice routes and bubble screens from the slot.
