The secret to LSU’s first road win in the Southeastern Conference since 2024 may have just gotten out.

LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green, a preseason All-American and a favorite target of quarterback Sam Leavitt, was not listed as injured for Saturday’s game at Auburn, according to the SEC availability (injury) report released by the league office on Wednesday night.

Green, a giant 6-foot-7, 240-pound target for Leavitt, had been listed as “out” for LSU’s last four games since injuring his knee as he was tackled early in the fourth quarter in the loss at Ole Miss on Sept. 19. Green caught four passes for 60 yards at Ole Miss. He has 14 catches for 222 yards and a touchdown in LSU’s first three games. He is not even listed as “questionable” for this game, which means he is available to play at Auburn.

LSU has not won a road game in the SEC since Oct. 19, 2024, when it beat Arkansas, 34-10. The Tigers have lost eight straight away SEC games since, including two this season

LSU coach Lane Kiffin could keep Green out anyway, though, as he may be out of game shape and would have an open date next Saturday to get even healthier and more prepared as the Tigers do not play again after Auburn until Nov. 7 at home against Alabama. Green has been seen on the sidelines at LSU’s last two games without the knee brace he previously wore after the injury.

No. 18 LSU (5-2, 2-2 SEC) and Auburn (4-2, 2-2 SEC) kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday on ABC in Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.

The only players listed as out for the Tigers are previously injured linebacker Whit Weeks (leg) and three players out for the season with injuries – defensive back Dashawn Spears, linebacker Charles Ross and wide receiver Phillip Wright III.

For Auburn, backup offensive lineman Tai Buster and backup tight end Hunter Herring are both listed as out, while backup defensive tackle Saint Farrior is questionable.

Starting linebacker Xavier Atkins is also out as he was dismissed from the team this week.
