LSU, Texas to kick off at 6:30 p.m. in highly-anticipated non-conference bout

The long-awaited, now-potential Top 10 contest between LSU and Texas at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium will be played under the lights in front of a national audience.

ESPN announced Wednesday morning that the Tigers and Longhorns will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on ABC as part of the network’s Saturday Night football package.

The game, slated for Sept. 7, will feature two teams who enter the 2019 season with high expectations after overachieving and earning wins in New Year Six bowl games in 2018.

LSU finished last season with a 10-3 record and capped things off with a 40-32 victory against undefeated UCF in the Fiesta Bowl.

Texas went 10-4 last year with a victory against Oklahoma in the Red River shootout, earning a runner up spot in the Big 12 and defeating Georgia 28-21 in the Sugar Bowl.

  1. This should be a very exciting competitive game. I look forward to the 2019-2020 season for the LSU TIGERS. I can hardly wait for the season to begin and the Tigers win the National Championship.
