LSU returned to its No. 10 ranking in the Associated Press top 25 college football poll on Sunday, following a 63-14 win over McNeese State in Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers (4-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) had dropped from No. 10 to No. 11 last week despite beating then-No. 23 Texas A&M, 35-6. LSU will play at Kentucky (4-1, 2-1 SEC) on Saturday on the road (6 p.m., ESPN). The Wildcats dropped from No. 25 to out of the A.P. poll on Sunday despite winning 35-34 at South Carolina in overtime on Saturday. Kentucky was ranked No. 25 Sunday in the USA Today Coaches poll. LSU is also No. 10 in the Coaches poll.

The rest of the top 10 in the A.P. poll featured No. 1 Texas, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, Ohio State, Alabama, Indiana, Brigham Young and Ole Miss.
The second 10 had No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 12 Utah, No. 13 Oregon, No. 14 Missouri, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Florida, No. 17 Mississippi State, No. 18 Oklahoma State, No. 19 USC and No. 20 Iowa. The bottom five were No. 21 UCLA, No. 22 Houston, No. 23 Boise State, No. 24 SMU and No. 25 Pittsburgh. Kentucky received the most votes of the teams not getting voted in with 160.
There are nine SEC teams in the A.P. poll, including four teams on LSU’s upcoming schedule – Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas and Tennessee.
