LSU coach Lane Kiffin tried, but apparently he is not going to get the No. 1 high school prospect in all the land for his 2027 recruiting class.
Defensive tackle Jalen Brewster, whom 247sports.com and On3.com recruiting websites rank as the top prep player in the nation, has ended his recruitment and will stick to his commitment of Oct. 4 last year to Texas Tech, according to On3.com.
Brewster (6-foot-3, 302 pounds), who is from Cedar Hill High in Cedar Hill, Texas, in the Dallas area, visited LSU on May 29, Florida on June 11, Indiana on April 24 and Miami on April 29, among others.
Throughout the summer, Kiffin was seen as the favorite to flip Brewster to LSU.
Kiffin still has the 10th ranked class in the nation by 247sports.com for 2027 with 16 commitments.
