The first domino of the Ed Orgeron era has fallen.

LSU fired special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto on Sunday, the first of several expected upgrades to Orgeron’s staff.

A long time Miles assistant, Peveto oversaw a roller coaster, mistake-prone unit in 2016. LSU ranked just 44th in punting average, 36th in kickoff defense, and 116th in kickoff returns.

“We appreciate Bradley Dale and the work he put into this program,” Orgeron said in a statement. “However, at this time we have decided to move in a different direction with our special teams.”

Peveto spent seven seasons total at LSU, six total as special teams coordinator and one as co-defensive coordinator.
