LSU coach Brian Kelly in the spotlight at SEC Media Days on Monday in Atlanta

ATLANTA – First-year coach Brian Kelly and three Tiger football players will represent LSU when SEC Media Days open Monday here.

   LSU tapped sophomore receiver Jack Bech, defensive end BJ Ojulari and junior linebacker Mike Jones Jr. to accompany Kelly to Atlanta.

   Bech had a standout freshman season out of St. Thomas More High in Lafayette. Ojulari had 12 starts and led all Tiger defensive linemen in tackles with 55 last season. Jones is heading into his second season at LSU after transferring from Clemson.  

   The conference’s annual Media Days run through Thursday in the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center and the College Football Hall of Fame.

   Kelly’s schedule Monday starts at 11 a.m. and will include appearances on SEC radio, multiple CBS outlets, ESPN, the Marty & McGee show and Sirius XM.

   Tiger players also will take part in media interviews throughout the late morning and afternoon.

   College football realignment, NIL issues and transfer portal talk is expected to arise when SEC commissioner Greg Sankey meets with media members starting at 11:45 a.m. Monday.

   Other SEC coaches are scheduled for various days through the week, including Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin also on Monday, Alabama’s Nick Saban and Mississippi State’s Mike Leach on Tuesday, Florida’s Billy Napier and Georgia’s Kirby Smart on Wednesday and Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher and Auburn’s Bryan Harison on Thursday.

   SEC Media Days are being in Atlanta for the second time in five years, also including 2018. They previously had been held at various locations in Birmingham, Alabama, from 1985-2017 and in 2019 and 2021.
