Jayden Daniels Will Not Have Surgery And Not Be Put On Injured Reserve With Elbow Injury

Former LSU quarterback great Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders will not be having surgery after dislocating his left elbow on Sunday against Dallas, and he is not expected to be placed on injured reserve, Washington gneral manager Adam Peters said Friday on on a radio show.

ESPN later also reported Daniels will not be going on IR and is week-to-week.

Daniels, the second player picked in the NFL Draft in 2024 and the NFL offensive Rookie of the Year that season, saw multiple specialists about the injury.

The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner for the Tigers, Daniels will miss Sunday’s game against Seattle. It is his second left elbow dislocation in less than a year. When Daniels dislocated the left elbow for the first time last season, he missed four weeks.

When he came back, though he re-aggravated the injury after falling hard on his left elbow in a game.

“As of right now, surgery is not on the table, and we haven’t discussed IR,” Peters said Friday morning on “The Sports Junkies” show on 106.7 The Fan in Washington D.C. “So it’s just a matter of how we’re going to get him back on the field. That’s still to be determined.”
