Junior LSU linebacker Davhon Keys is stepping into a bigger role for the Tigers’ defense. With senior Whit Weeks sidelined with a fractured leg, Keys will take over as the starter alongside Ole Miss transfer TJ Dottery. Keys similarly stepped up last season when Weeks was out with an ankle injury and finished the year as the Southeastern Conference’s No. 2 tackler (92). He made five tackles against Texas A&M as he took over for an injured weeks, bringing his season total to 11 with one tackle for loss.
Keys spoke to Baton Rouge reporters after practice on Tuesday about helping the defense manage injuries to key players.
