LSU Football: Trey’Dez Green Named To Player Of Year Watch List By Walter Camp Foundation

LSU junior tight Trey’Dez Green end has not been practicing amid contact so far in the Tigers’ pre-season practices, but he continues to draw national attention.

Green is among 50 players nationwide – and the only tight end – named to the Walter Camp Foundation “Players to Watch” list of its 2026 Player of the Year Award, the organization has announced. He enters his third season with the Tigers and already holds the program record for receiving touchdowns by a tight end with 11. Last year, he set the season record for TD receptions by a tight end at LSU with seven. 

In two years at LSU, Green has emerged as one of the nation’s top pass receiving threats with his 6-foot-7 height, wide and tall catch radius and athletic ability. Green has 46 career receptions for 534 yards. 

The 2026 Walter Camp Award watch list includes 41 offensive players along with nine from the defensive side of the ball. Green previously made the Walter Camp Foundation’s first team All-America team.

The 2026 Player of Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November, and three finalists will be announced in early December. The winner will be announced in the second week of December after being voted upon by 138 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
