Tremont Waters named to AP All-SEC Team

LSU point guard and Bob Cousy award finalist Tremont Waters earned a spot on the Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference First Team, the AP announced Tuesday morning.

Waters served as the only Tiger to make make either team after averaging 15.3 points, 5.9 assists and 3.0 steals on the season. His stats were even better against SEC opponents, against which he averaged 17.7 points, 6.2 assists and 2.9 steals.

Other Awards handed out by the publication included Tennessee forward Grant Williams being named the league’s player of the year, Ole Miss’ Kermit Davis named as coach of the year and Kentucky freshman guard Tyler Herro named as freshman of the year.

The league’s one All-SEC awards, voted on by league coaches, are also scheduled to come out on Tuesday.
