The Game: Alabama @ Ole Miss

The Line: Bama  -10

The Pick: Ole Miss

The Reason: The Rebels have beaten the Tide in back-to-back meetings because it runs the kind of high-octane offense that gives Alabama fits. The Tide still wins, but Ole Miss covers.

The Game: Texas A&M @ Auburn

The Line: Auburn -3 ½

The Pick: Texas A&M

The Reason: Two of the SEC’s best defensive lines are set to square off on the Plains, but the Aggies appear closer to having their offense figured out at this point. (JM)

The Game: Texas State @ Arkansas

The Line: Ark -31 ½

The Pick: TSU

The Reason: The Hogs are riding high off a thrilling upset of TCU. However, with a showdown with Texas A&M looming, this one screams trap game where Arkansas doesn’t cover the huge spread. (JM)

The Game: Florida vs. North Texas

The Line: Florida -36

The Pick: Florida

The Reason: North Texas lost to a bad SMU team by 13, and Florida seems to have a semblance of offensive firepower.

The Game: Georgia @ Missouri

The Line: Georgia -6.5

The Pick: Georgia

The Reason: I don’t buy Missouri’s offense after 61 points vs. Eastern Michigan, and Georgia will be fired up after struggling with Nicholls State.

The Game: Tennessee vs. Ohio

The Line: Tennessee -27.5

The Pick: Ohio

The Reason: This is a points play. Hard to swallow 27.5, especially after giving away 35 in the Florida pick.

The Game: South Carolina vs. East Carolina

The Line: South Carolina -4

The Pick: South Carolina

The Reason: The Pirates just upset North Carolina State and played Florida close last year. A 4 p.m. kick will have the Gamecocks out of sync, but they’ll win by a touchdown.

The Game: Vanderbilt @ Georgia Tech

The Line: Georgia Tech -6.5

The Pick: Vanderbilt

The Reason: Two offenses that need plenty of work. Two solid defenses. I like it low-scoring and tight.

The Game: Kentucky vs. New Mexico State

The Line: Kentucky -18.5

The Pick: New Mexico State

The Reason: Do you like Kentucky against anyone right now? Me neither.
