Practice Report: Fournette and Clapp are full participants in return

Leonard Fournette practiced Monday for the first time since Ed Orgeron took over as LSU’s interim head coach three weeks ago.

Fournette and left guard Will Clapp, who missed two weeks while dealing with a shoulder injury, were both full participants at LSU’s “Tell the Truth Monday” practice ahead of Saturday night’s showdown with Ole Miss.

Right tackle Toby Weathersby (ankle) was absent once again while right guard Josh Boutte, who spoke with reporters earlier in the day, was an unexpected absence. Here’s how the first-team offensive line looked during team periods:

LT K.J. Malone

LG Will Clapp

C Ethan Pocic

RG Garrett Brumfield (in for Boutte)

RT Maea Teuhema

Tight end Foster Moreau returned to practice on a limited basis. He was dressed out but didn’t participate aside from jogging on the side.

As for Fournette, the All-American tailback rotated in and out with Derrius Guice, who has broken 100 yards rushing and scored multiple touchdowns in each game Fournette missed, and Darrel Williams, who started against Southern Miss. Fournette did take the majority of the first-team reps and looked crisp when running, for whatever that’s worth.
