Practice report: Arden Key, two other defensive starters absent

By JAMES MORAN | Tiger Rag Associate Editor

LSU practiced Monday without three starting defenders.

Outside linebacker Arden Key, who is dealing with a knee injury, didn’t participate in the media-viewing portion of practice. LSU coach Ed Orgeron said he was “questionable” at his press conference earlier in the day.

Key left Saturday’s 33-10 win over Arkansas with what appeared to be a knee injury. Freshman K’Lavon Chaisson replaced him in the game and worked in his place during drills on Monday.

Inside linebacker Donnie Alexander and cornerback Greedy Williams were also absent Monday.

Left tackle K.J. Malone was again absent. He hasn’t been spotted at practice since suffering a knee injury against Florida last month. Orgeron assessed his status as “very questionable” to play against Tennessee.
