Practice report: Arden Key, Donnie Alexander and KJ Malone all return

LSU appears to be getting healthier heading into it’s regular-season finale against Texas A&M.

Linebackers Arden Key (knee) and Donnie Alexander (neck/shoulder) returned to practice Monday after missing LSU’s 30-10 victory over Tennessee. Key was sporting a brace on his right knee.

Left tackle KJ Malone also practiced, as expected, for the first time since suffering a knee injury against Florida last month, though he mostly watched while reporters were present. He spoke at length earlier in the day about a potential return for Senior Night.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron said all three are “questionable” to play against the Aggies.

“I don’t know yet if they’re going to practice tomorrow yet,” Orgeron said of Key and Alexander. “I don’t know that yet. Maybe. I just talked to the trainer this morning. We’re going to have to see how they progress today and tomorrow.

Quarterback Danny Etling practiced with a wrap around his right hand. Orgeron said he’d sustained a bruise and would be fine to play Saturday. Etling joked it was a “paper cut” while speaking with reporters earlier Monday.

“He’s fine,” Orgeron said. “He’s all right. A little bruise on it. He’s good.”
