Turns out Paul Mainieri will have some extra down time to soak in the sights and revel in the memories of his Fighting Irish homecoming.

LSU and Notre Dame had its game postponed Tuesday night due to heavy rain in the South Bend area, and the teams will play a double header Wednesday consisting of two seven-inning games.

Left-hander John Valek III will start the first game for LSU, which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT). Right-hander Riley Smith will get the ball to begin the nightcap. How they fare could prove pivotal as Mainieri tries to manage his pitching staff through five games in as many days.

Both games on Wednesday may be viewed online on ESPN3, accessible at WatchESPN.com and the Watch ESPN app. The games may be heard on affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network, and live audio and stats are available at www.LSUsports.net.
