While many watched the College Football Playoff semifinal classic that No. 6 Ole Miss lost to No. 19 Miami, 31-27, Thursday night, LSU coach Lane Kiffin received a commitment from junior college offensive tackle JaKolby Jones of Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Jones (6-5, 295 pounds), played at Many High in Many before two seasons Copiah-Lincoln in Wesson, Mississippi.

In the 247sports.com junior college rankings, he is the No. 16 offensive tackle and No. 104 overall player.

Jones does not count toward LSU’s portal class, rather its traditional recruiting class of high school and junior college players for 2026. That class is ranked No. 12 by 247sports.com with 14 signees and one commitment from Jones. Signing day for that recruiting period is on Feb. 4.
