LSU’s basketball season is rapidly approaching historical lows.

The Tigers lost their 13th straight on Saturday, falling to Alabama 90-72. One more loss will tie the school record for consecutive defeats, and sitting at 1-13 in the SEC, LSU has just four games to get another win to avoid becoming the first team since Alabama in 1968-69 with just a single SEC win for an entire season.

Antonio Blakeney — whom head coach Johnny Jones benched for the final 14:30 of the first half — scored 28 points in the loss, hitting his first nine shots and connecting on 9-of-14 overall. It was Blakeney’s fourth straight game over 20 points. He’s averaging 27.3 points per game on 59 percent shooting from the field and 57 percent shooting from deep.

Riley Norris scored 17 to lead five Alabama players in double figures. The Tide buried nine first half threes and finished the game 10-of-25 from behind the arc.

LSU returns to action against Auburn on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 6 pm at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
