LSU announces it’ll close Ed Orgeron’s first training camp to the media

Bad news for anyone who likes daily attendance reports and videos of pad-less players going through induvial drills.

LSU announced Friday that all training camp practices will be closed to the media as LSU begins its first fall camp under Ed Orgeron next week, a departure from the norm of recent years.

Reporters were allowed in for limited viewing windows during the opening week of camp throughout Les Miles’ tenure as LSU coach. Instead LSU will release pictures and video of fall practices through its various content outlets.

Orgeron opened game-week practices to the media upon taking over as interim head coach last fall, in itself a break from established protocol under Miles. It’s unclear at this time if reporters will be allowed back in once the regular season draws closer.

Players are scheduled to report to camp Sunday with the first practice set for Monday afternoon.
