The last time LSU was preparing to play Ole Miss in football last September, news broke nationally that Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter Landry, an Ole Miss student, was dating LSU linebacker and student Whit Weeks.
Much has changed since then, but Landry, 21, and Whit, 21, are still an item. And each remain at their respective universities as No. 7 LSU (2-0) gets ready to play at No. 8 Ole Miss (2-0) on Saturday (6:30 p.m., ABC) in the Southeastern Conference opener for both schools at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.

Several weeks after Ole Miss beat LSU, 24-19, last year in Oxford, Landry’s dad became LSU’s head football coach as he left Ole Miss just after the regular season and began working at LSU on Dec. 1. He replaced LSU coach Brian Kelly, who was fired on Oct. 26 after the Tigers fell out of the College Football Playoff race for the fourth time in his four seasons the night before with a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M that dropped LSU to 5-3 and 2-3 in the SEC.
And now the Ole Miss Nation hates Landry’s dad with passion as he left them at the altar of the College Football Playoff after putting the Rebels there with an 11-1 (7-1 SEC) season. He wanted to stay and coach Ole Miss in the playoffs while recruiting and hiring staff at LSU, but Ole Miss said no. Yet, Ole Miss gladly kept most of Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss with LSU’s permission for the playoffs despite the coaches following Kiffin to LSU.
Landry is caught in the middle and has been taking some hits on social media this week from Ole Miss fans as well as vulgar messages about her hanging on signs in Oxford.

Landry strongly DENIED the rumor, saying she has “genuinely never met” Bentley in her life.

“Saying really inappropriate things about me, and with somebody that I have genuinely never met in my life, which makes it even more frustrating,” she said. “I will just never understand how someone can feel good about themselves, putting such vulgar things about a girl on a giant banner hanging from their house. I feel like that’s really mind-blowing to me.”
While she gets the hate and vitriol of SEC football, enough is enough.
“I think that turning a girl into the punchline of a sexual joke because you’re upset at somebody she’s related to should not be okay,” she said.
