East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore is investigating an alleged rape involving an LSU football player in 2025. The accuser is an LSU student who has detailed her allegations on TikTok.
TikTok user Kendall Danielle said the alleged rape happened around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 of 2025, the same day as LSU’s road game against Vanderbilt later that afternoon. Danielle claimed the player admitted to the assault during an LSU Title IX investigation. The player was suspended by LSU for one year following that investigation, but has since been allowed to return to campus. It is unclear if the player is on the 2026 LSU football team. Moore neither confirmed nor denied that.
“It has come to my attention that an alleged sexual assault involving a student-athlete and an LSU student may have occurred on LSU’s campus in October, 2025,” Moore said in a release by the District Attorney’s office on Tuesday. He had no other comment other than what he said in the release.
On Oct. 18, 2025, the player at question was either injured and did not make the trip to the game, or was not on the traveling roster, because the LSU football team was in Nashville, Tennessee, for the game since Friday, Oct. 17, before the alleged rape happened.
“Just trying to speak on my story, because LSU does really protect their athletes, especially their football players, and I’m sorry for anyone else who has gone through something similar to this,” Danielle sad in the TikTok posted on Sept. 14.
Moore’s office is now investigating the allegations. In a statement, he said his office became aware of the allegation on Tuesday.
Moore said he’s requested all reports, interviews, evidence and other relevant records from LSU, the LSU Police Department, the Baton Rouge Police Department, the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office and any other agency possessing information related to this matter.
The player’s name has not been made public. The alleged victim believes LSU went out of its way to protect him.
“Sexual assault and rape should matter more than football, and LSU is showing that football matters more than anything,” Danielle said.
Danielle said she first reported the assault to the Baton Rouge Police Department, but what was told the LSU Police Department has jurisdiction because the alleged incident happened on campus. The woman says the LSU Police investigators were not interested in conducting an extensive investigation.
“When I came in to pursue charges, they basically said that nothing could be done, and pretty much said that I’m wasting my time,” Danielle said.
An LSU spokesperson confirmed the university is aware of a formal police report being filed alleging a sexual assault involving a student-athlete and said that the incident was first reported by the student-athlete himself. No criminal complaint was filed at that time.
“LSU and its current administration take very seriously any allegations of misconduct involving students on our campuses. Safety and security must be our number one priority,” LSU president Wade Rousse said in an LSU statement. “Let me assure everyone that this incident has been handled professionally and that LSU has strictly followed our policies, procedures and best practices, including the Title IX process, to guide our actions to date. Now that a criminal complaint has been filed, our role is to continue cooperating with our law enforcement partners as they work through their investigatory process.”
