LSU Drops To 11th From 10th in A.P. Poll Despite Beating No. 23 Aggies, 35-6; Florida 8th After Pummeling Ole Miss

So, LSU dropped in the Associated Press poll on Sunday after a 29-point win over a ranked team in the same poll.

The Tigers (3-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) gained 506 yards and ripped No. 23 Texas A&M, 35-6, on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium only to drop from No. 10 to No. 11 in the A.P. top 25.

Brigham Young (3-0) was open and dropped to the 10th spot from No. 9, which is where Ole Miss (3-1, 1-1 SEC) is after falling five spots following a 52-28 loss at Florida. The Gators (4-0, 2-0 SEC) jumped 13 spots to No. 8. That was the largest jump in the poll since LSU soared 14 spots from No. 25 to No. 11 on Sept. 4, 2018, after beating No. 8 Miami, 33-17, to open that season.

LSU next plays Saturday against McNeese State (2-3) in Tiger Stadium (6:45 p.m., SEC Network).

The top three spots were the same with Texas, Georgia and Notre Dame. Miami is No. 4, followed by No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 Indiana, No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 Florida, No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 BYU.

After LSU, the rest of the the top 25 has No. 12 Texas Tech, No. 13 Utah, No. 14 Iowa, No. 15 Oregon, No. 16 Mississippi State, No. 17 Tennessee, No. 18 USC, No. 19 Oklahoma Stae, No. 20 Houston, No. 21 SMU, No. 22 Boise State, No. 23 UCLA, No. 24 Kentucky and No. 25 Missouri.

LSU returns to SEC play on Oct. 10 at No. 24 Kentucky (3-1, 1-1 SEC).
