Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is out indefinitely after dislocating his left elbow on Sunday. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase led the Bengals to a 2-0 start behind a two-touchdown performance against the Texans. Patriots tackle Will Campbell helped stifle the Steelers defense in a 20-3 New England win.
Here is a look at some of the top storylines from Tigers around the NFL in Week 2:
Jayden Daniels Awaiting Test Results
Former LSU Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted off the field on the final play of the first half of the Commanders’ 37-20 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. The 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year dislocated his left elbow and has been ruled out against the Seahawks in Week 3.
Down 10-17 with three seconds left in the half, Washington elected to go for the end zone on the one-yard line instead of kicking a field goal. Daniels took the snap and tripped on the feet of his offensive lineman. As he fell, he braced himself with his left arm and dislocated his elbow, the same injury he suffered last season.
Daniels dislocated his left elbow in Week 9 of the 2025 season and was sidelined for four games. When he made his return, he reaggravated the injury and was shut down for the remainder of the season.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said a postgame X-ray revealed that there was no fracturing in the elbow. Daniels underwent further imaging on Monday and will meet with specialists for further tests on Tuesday and Thursday.
Ja’Marr Chase Makes The Impossible Regular
2019 national champion and Biletnikoff Award winner Ja’Marr Chase made another spectacular touchdown grab in the Bengals’ 20-6 win over the Texans. Former LSU Heisman-winner Joe Burrow launched a 32-yard pass to the front right corner of the end zone, and a stumbling Chase covered by former LSU teammate Derek Stingley Jr. was able to contort his body and get both feet in to take a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.
Chase finished the game with seven receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Burrow completed 20 of his 31 pass attempts for 207 yards and two touchdowns against one of the NFL’s top defenses.
Stingley was targeted five times and allowed three catches for 78 yards and the score with one pass break-up, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). The touchdown to Chase was his only target with Stingley in coverage. Ex-LSU defensive end Danielle Hunter had one tackle for loss, one pass defended and sacked Burrow once.
Will Campbell Rebounding From Disastrous Super Bowl
Patriots left tackle Will Campbell got a lot of heat over the offseason for a disappointing performance in Super Bowl LX. In the 29-13 loss to the Seahawks, the rookie gave up an NFL season-worst 14 pressures and one of five Seattle sacks.
Through the first two games of 2026, however, the former No. 4 overall pick’s 81.7 PFF pass blocking grade ranks ninth among all NFL tackles. He ranks 16th with a 73.4 offensive grade, but his 61.6 run blocking rating is 44th out of 50 qualifying tackles.
He faced off against a capable Steelers’ right EDGE rotation of Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig and allowed no sacks and just one QB hit in 29 pass blocking snaps. The Patriots’ offensive line helped pave the way for 136 rushing yards in the 20-3 win on Sunday.
Mansoor Delane A Healthy Scratch
Former All-American LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane was deemed available but did not play in the Chiefs’ 33-30 overtime win over the Colts on Sunday night.
Delane, who was selected No. 9 overall by the Chiefs in the 2026 NFL Draft, played just three snaps in his NFL debut last week. On his first NFL target, he intercepted Broncos quarterback Bo Nix but injured his shoulder on the return, aggravating an injury that kept him in a non-contact jersey throughout training camp.
Delane was listed as questionable on Friday after practicing all week but was active for the matchup with Indianapolis. It was another former Tiger, Kristian Fulton, who played in place of Delane. Kansas City head coach Andy Reid confirmed after the game that Delane was available in case of emergency but the plan was always to let him sit the game out for an extra week of recovery.
Fulton allowed just two catches for five yards but was flagged twice. “He stepped in and did a heck of a job. A couple of those calls could go either way,” Reid said after the game.
Malik Nabers Continues Return On Monday Night Football
LSU’s all-time leading receiver, Malik Nabers, is set to play his second game since returning from a severe knee injury last season. The 2024 sixth-overall pick tore his ACL and meniscus in September of last season, and his recovery was further delayed after a second “clean up” procedure in the spring.
He participated throughout training camp, and although physically fully cleared for his 2026 season opener versus the Cowboys last week, he dealt with mental blocks returning to live action. Nabers made the decision to return just hours before kickoff against the Cowboys and caught six passes for 69 yards in the 28-20 win.
He is set for his second game back from injury on Monday night against the preseason Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams. The Rams feature the former two-time Super Bowl champion Chiefs cornerback duo of Jaylen Watson and two-time All-Pro Trent McDuffie. Kickoff in LA is set for 7:15 p.m. CT.
