Lane Kiffin notched a major win early by retaining both of LSU’s talented running backs, Caden Durham and Harlem Berry, through the coaching change, but Wisconsin transfer Dilin Jones seems to be in line to take the first carry in the season opener on Sept. 5 versus Clemson. The redshirt sophomore saw first-team reps when he arrived in the spring and has only solidified that role through fall camp thanks to his physicality, footwork and vision. He was the Badgers leading rusher with 300 yards and two touchdowns in seven starts before a turf-toe injury cut his season short.
Jones talked his transition to LSU and fall camp with quarterback Sam Leavitt and the rest of the offense with local media in the Team Room at LSU Football Ops after Tuesday’s practice.
