Junior cornerback PJ Woodland could be the only returning starter in the LSU secondary when the Tigers open the season against Clemson on Sept. 5. Cornerback Mansoor Delane and safety A.J. Haulcy are both off to the NFL and safety Tamarcus Cooley may have lost his starting job to redshirt freshman Jhase Thomas. Woodland started all 13 games at corner for a unit that saw more more interceptions (17) than touchdown passes allowed (14) last season. He defended 11 passes, made two interceptions and allowed 20 catches for 330 yards all season.
Woodland spoke with Baton Rouge media about how he plans to build on that season alongside cornerback partner DJ Pickett and recapped his fall camp after practice on Tuesday.
