LSU welcomed Troy transfer wide receiver Roman Mothershed as a big, 6-foot-5 receiver in the offseason. He made 25 catches for 259 yards and a touchdown with the Trojans last season, and did not carve out a significant role in the tigers’ receiver room heading into 2026. But after Trey’Dez Green went down with a knee injury against Ole Miss, Mothershed was asked to bring his size to the tight end room and step up as a receiving threat there. He has made two catches and scored a touchdown in each of the last two games and totaled 56 yards against Kentucky as his comfort grows in the new spot.
Mothershed met with local reporters on Tuesday to discuss how the move has gone and how the Tigers plan to respond to their second loss of the season.
