TIGER RAG NEWS SERVICES
One of the best parts of coach Lane Kiffin’s No. 1 portal class is the youth in the 41-man group of transfers. There are no less than 21 underclassmen. That is the future.
One of those is redshirt freshman quarterback Husan Longstreet (6-foot-1, 195 pounds), formerly of USC who was a five-star prospect when he signed with the Trojans before the 2025 season. He was the No. 4 ranked quarterback in the nation, No. 32 overall prospect and No. 3 player in a talent-rich state out of Centennial High in Corona, California, in the Los Angeles area.
Longstreet exited spring drills at LSU and entered preseason practices on Wednesday as the Tigers’ No. 2 quarterback behind starter Sam Leavitt, a redshirt junior transfer from Arizona State.
There was a surprise player at a No. 1 safety slot today, and true freshman No. 2 edge Lamar Brown drew raves from Lane Kiffin. https://t.co/ukuBIsxYs5

Should Leavitt leave for the NFL Draft after this season, Longstreet will have an excellent chance of becoming LSU’s starter in 2027, though he will likely have to contend with Landen Clark, a redshirt sophomore transfer from Elon with the Tigers this season.
TIGER RAG SCOUTING REPORT: Elite prospect with high end arm talent, mobility and long term upside. High ceiling could have him taking over the offense sooner, rather than later. Gives LSU a talented developmental option with redshirt sophomore Landen Clark behind redshirt junior starter Sam Leavitt and could see situational and relief snaps this season.
