Practice Report: Oct. 30

A day after LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield might be available for the Alabama game this weekend, Brumfield could be seen at practice running drills with the at left guard with the first-team offensive line.

Brumfield has missed the last four games with a knee injury he suffered in the first quarter against Louisiana Tech, but his return would give the Tigers’ front a much-needed boost against a talented Alabama front seven.

“Surprisingly, I talked to (LSU athletic trainder Jack Marucci Monday) morning, he feels that Garrett is going to be ready to go,” Orgeron said Monday. “He’s going to be about as healthy as he possibly can right now. That gives us a boost. Garrett brings a tremendous amount of leadership, a tremendous amount of confidence, and he also makes the calls.”

Despite being suspended for the first half of the Alabama game, LSU linebacker Devin White could still be seen running first-team reps during position drills. Expected possible replacements Patrick Queen and Micah Baskerville got in on the action as well, rotating in for reps with Jacob Phillips.

Missing from practice was backup defensive end Justin Thomas.
